Our Pillars

Food Security and Sustainability

We operate 54 soup kitchens, serving 162,000 meals monthly to children in vulnerable communities. We also supply daily meals to 1,300 schoolchildren, and support Early Childhood Development centres, an old age home, and an orphanage with nutritious food and ingredients. To promote long-term sustainability, we establish vegetable gardens in impoverished areas, including at Salt River Secondary School, and provide seedlings to ECD centres for their own gardens. Food vouchers and parcels are also distributed as needed.

Education, Training and Upliftment

We support students by settling historical debt that prevents them from graduating, and fund secondary and tertiary education for students with proven dedication and strong work ethics. We offer artisan training in baking and sewing, helping individuals become self-sufficient, and establish small businesses such as bakeries and sewing academies that provide livelihoods for dozens of families.

Thousands of learners receive backpacks, stationery, toiletries, and snacks annually. We also assist Early Childhood Development Centres with teaching materials, provide laptops and digital training to high school students, and sponsor a primary school reading programme.

At Salt River Secondary School, we have planted a thriving vegetable garden where students, through the Eco Tribe initiative, learn to plant, harvest, make compost and cook nutritious meals. They are also taught how to earn an income by selling excess produce, compost and mulch. We also sponsor educational outings for learners.

By facilitating Trauma Release Workshops and Art Therapy sessions, we assist beneficiaries who deal with devastating traumas in their communities. By establishing an internet café we have given an otherwise impoverished community a hand up, not a hand out. Knowledge is power.

Disaster Relief and Rebuilding

We help communities recover from devastating floods, fires, and riots by rebuilding homes and providing essential items such as furniture, mattresses, bedding, clothing, toiletries, and kitchenware. To prevent the spread of shack fires, we also distribute “Put It Out” fire extinguishers to high-risk areas.
EMERGENCY RELIEF 2

Restoring Dignity

We provide thousands of schoolgirls with sanitary pads, who otherwise would miss up to 80 days of school each year. We improve infrastructure at Early Childhood Development Centres to ensure that these facilities are safe and functional, as well as support addiction rehabilitation to help individuals reclaim their lives.

We empower single parents by supplying second-hand clothing they can sell for income, and support the homeless with thousands of sleeping bags, blankets, and pillows. We also donate Rape Comfort Packs to abuse victims, provide adult diapers and toiletries to old age homes, and supply schoolchildren with essential toiletries and underwear.

UPLIFMENT 2

Medical Needs

We have funded over 25 life-saving cardiac surgeries for babies and toddlers , as well as a life- saving surgery for a young girl battling cancer. Through BackaBuddy campaigns, we support urgent medical needs, emergency surgeries, and essential medication. When possible, we also provide prosthetic limbs to those in need.
